Took me a while

At times in life, from strangers from the past,

I hear " You have changed"

To anyone that knows anything about growing up

this is a compliment,

When you grow up,

 you change,

you evolve,

you survive some storms,

you walk some lonely paths,

you fall but you get up right away,

you make mistakes but you learn from them,

you make wrong decisions but you own them and fix them,

you look for the best in an opportunity,

you keep going...

but you change, you become better at

whatever it is that you've wanted to grow up into

Sometimes I think of kids who didn't have 

a good role model,

whose parents never grew up or cared.

What a sad world they must have.

But happiness is a choice,

so despite all the obstacles and hardships,

if you choose not to be happy that's your own fault.

To some people I wish I could say

Good Bye and I never want to see you again,

But I don't possess that kind of strength 

so I pray to God to take those that don't mean well away,

and just like His power, the Almighty that He is,

He takes those away that don't wish me a happiness bliss.

After each one leaves, I gracefully say,

"Thank you God for taking them away"

For each person that has left my life,

three more blessings came that enriched my life. 

Life takes you places to see the beauty of the world,

the beauty of the people, 

 We live through the snow, the rain, the warmest summers,

and yet we find a way to shine, to blossom,

We find a way to change.

For better,

for grown,

so tomorrow we can raise those that 

will make this world a better place,

Took me a while

but I can finally say,

I have changed,

I am grown and I will keep it that way.

I looked for you during my coffee this morning
but you weren't there,
But I still had my coffee as if you were,

I looked for you as I enjoyed the beauty of a raindrop
Being so amazed at the perfection of each drop,
But you weren't there,
So I still kept watching as the rain fell everywhere,

I looked for you in the park during the children's play,
their freedom, their laughter, their happiness
the perfection of the grass,
but you weren't there,
So I played with them with my feet so bare,

I looked for you during my whole day,
but you weren't there,

So I told the oceans to tell the rivers,
to tell the trees, to tell the birds, to tell you
that no matter how far away,
somehow you are always there.

In my heart, in my thoughts,
in my peace with me
in the safest place

What's love got to do with it then

They say you fall in love and life is complete,
But will that love last when life's struggles have you beat,

When someone that you hold close to heart,
doesn't love the one you promised to " till death do you apart",

What's love got to do with it then?

When the one you so much love,
is being forced with a gun,
is he the man that wanted to give you the sun,

What's love got to do with it then?

When you hold two little kids in your hand,
and you are forced to live in a foreign land,

What's love got to do with it then?

When you have to start all over again, and again,
with all the obstacles never seem to end,

What's love got to do with it then?

When your health brings you to almost the end,
and family has love from far away to send,

What's love got to do with it then?

When your brothers and sisters,
cousins and their children are all oceans away,
and all you have is each other at the end of the day,

What's love got to do with it then?

It isn't the love for each other that will last forever and a day,
it's the promise that you want to keep each and every way,

The promise to each other
"For better or worst,
in sickness or health,
For the rest of our lives,
that's all we have left"

Happy 34th Anniversary to my two best friends, my parents!

Scars

The scars on my body let me know it will rain,
the scars on my heart let me know I will enjoy it

Happiness

Choosing to say that I am happy doesn't mean that 
me or my life is perfect, 
it simply means that I CHOOSE to see the positive,
the blessings, the good in people 
and things around me.

I choose to be positive therefore I am happy. 
So when people start to poke in my life looking for
imperfections and they find them, it doesn't mean that
I am not succeeding,
it means that my sight is better than theirs,
that I will always succeed 
because I will always rather concentrate on one blessing,
than ten flaws.

I choose to be happy,
it isn't determined by the people in my life 
or any things,
it is determined by my mind, 
my decision.

No one can touch that
So while there may be lots of fallen leaves around me,
I will still choose to be the rose that I am. 
Simply happy! 

Habits

Life is series of habits, your words, your actions,
ultimately it's your decision what your habits will be,
Hope you choose them wisely

A kind giving heart is rotten
if it's accompanied by foul and rotten mouth !

Get better

Learn not to be angry with people who try to destroy your happiness, but thank them,
because when you are defending your happiness that's when you are getting better at being happy!

" I decided long ago never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed,

This verse is so meaningful, that I will just leave it at that. Not my words by any means, but today.... I needed to hear someone else's words and these were the perfect ones.

If you want to succeed, sometimes you have to separate and accelerate !  

LEARN TO LET IT GO WITHOUT LETTING GO

Before I let go.....

Very often I'm told that she will grow up in the blink of my eyes,
but before I let go of her hand there are some things I will teach her;

~ Your dreams don't have to change just because your surrounding changed,

~ What others do or say is their own decision, it isn't a reflection of you, but their own life and thoughts

~When someone hurts you, it's not because of you, it's because they are sad and hurt, a happy person never puts others down

~ People will not understand your dreams, sometimes not even support you, that means you are succeeding 

~ You are your own best friend, if you don't stand up for yourself, no one will, if you don't have self respect, no one else will, if you don't fight your own battles, no one else will

~ You will meet more fake people in this world than the real and genuine ones, treat everyone the same!

~ Never, ever, ever hold a grudge! That is the biggest prison 

~ Never be jealous of anyone, no matter how good their life may seem, trust me baby, most of them are pretending.  Love and appreciate what you have in front of you

~Never judge a person by their nationality, faith, color of skin, or anything that makes them different than you, but do keep yourself at distance from those who are not on your moral and intellectual level. 

~ Never be afraid to laugh, love or live 

~ Never forget a power of the prayer 

~ A man who loves you will change for you before you know it, the rest are lying to you.

~Always have an older wiser friend

~ Keep yourself surrounded with people who will teach you good and positive things

~Never think that you are too old or too smart to learn anything 

~Maturity is life long process, don't rush it but savor it and use it 

~ Never explain yourself to anyone who doesn't deserve it 

~Those who love you will strive not to hurt you

~ Stay away from dramatic people, they never change or grow up

~Most of the time, look at someone's parents before deciding if you want them in your close circle, crazy parents=crazy kids

~Always keep mentality of a student in life

~ Never reveal someone's secrets, no matter what happens to your relationship with that person

~ Never tell anyone any true secrets about you, they won't be a secret for too long

~ God is the only Forgiving One, people are not 

~Materialistic things come and go, so do people, but your education is the only thing that will travel with you 

~No matter how many times you get hurt, don't be afraid to love again

~ If someone hurts you once, they will do it again. forgive them and move on

~He who loves you, will always stand up for you, even if you are not around

~I gave birth to you to serve no one but God, everyone else can do it themselves, but if someone does nice things for you, return the favor twice as much 

~ Shower your friends with presents whenever you can, without expecting anything in return

~Always be loyal to people in your life, wether they are your friend or not 

~Never stoop to someone else's level only rise up

~Don't let the women in magazines be your role models, look into history books, those are the best role models

~Always know that you are beautiful, but never show that you know, be humble 

~Speak slowly, calmly and softly 

~Never forget to laugh 

~Don't follow the pact, live your own life

~Be different

~Learn as many different languages as you can

~Travel to the foreign land 

~ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS help the less fortunate, even if it's your last dime, give it to them

~Cherish someone's love towards you

~Take care of your health and your body 

~When you decide to marry, make sure that there isn't any doubts in your mind about him and him about you

~Always follow your gut, it's never wrong

~Thank God for everything!~~

~Don't ever be afraid of what's in your heart

~Know that no matter where I am, I am always with you, giving you support, strength and encouragement 

~Never let your job become your life

~Always volunteer 

~It is better to be hated by many bad people and loved by one good true person

~Never let your past destroy your future

~Make a mistake, that's how you learn, but learn from it, don't repeat it

~Find what gives you peace, and follow it 

~Marry at the age that you are ready for it, not the age that everyone else is marrying

~Learn how to cook after you get married, cooking doesn't make you a woman

~Educate yourself as long as you are alive

~Make sure you educate someone else about the things you learn

~Plant a tree, a fruit

~Love the planet Earth, and explore it, it is soooo beautiful 

~Never give up on your dreams because of others, those who love you will accept you for who you are and what you become, others can keep on going, TRUST ME BABY YOU DON'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE THAT IN YOUR LIFE

~Sometimes it's better to drink your coffee alone then with anyone

~Only invite those who you trust into your home 

~Always have honest intentions towards everyone and everything

~People will accuse you of lies and bad intentions, let them, but don't react 

~Stay away from closed minded people

~Stay away from show offs 

~Always start your day with gratitude to God and a smile on your face

~Be respectful to your elders

~Don't argue with the ignorant people

~Ask for advise from multiple people but follow your gut 

~Don't waste your time on those who don't deserve it

~It's better that you break your own heart, then to let someone else break it, you will forgive yourself easier

~Take responsibility for your own actions

~Be polite, even when having a disagreement 

~Never forget the people who helped you

~Keep close family ties, you may not always like all of them, but they do share your blood

~Never let anyone walk over you

~Always look presentable, when you feel your worst, dress your best 

~Sometimes you may have to run before you walk

~Feel the beauty of the raindrop on your face sometimes

~Believe in blessings in disguise 

~No pain, no gain

~Your mother is always right 

~Never be afraid to be who you are 

~Win a battle with yourself before you take on anyone else 

~Mind your own business

~Never start a fight with anyone first, if you are attached, wait for their third strike and punch to make them regret even walking your way ( I hope this never happens to you, but if it does, use it, unless it's a man raising his hand on you, then hit him where it hurts the most before his hand lands on you)

~Learn how to change your own tire, your own oil and battery in your own car

~Never look and be helpless

~Never show where it really hurts

~Never show what makes you upset 

~Don't be afraid to move 

~Keep your morals, vocabulary, education, and happiness very high 

~Walk your own path

and always baby
